Anita Butters

Director’s Executive Assistant and Office Manager

At GB Recycling Group, our people are at the heart of everything we do. From helping customers with their enquiries to keeping the office organised, every member of the team plays a part in the service we deliver.

This time, we’re putting the spotlight on Anita Butters, our Director’s Executive Assistant and Office Manager. With responsibilities spanning customer accounts, office management, IT and social media, Anita helps keep things moving across the business.

From the Sales Team to a Varied Role

Anita joined GB in January 2023 as part of our Sales team. Since then, her role has continued to grow as she has taken on new responsibilities and developed her knowledge of the business.

Her progression has given her the opportunity to contribute to different areas of GB, something she particularly enjoys. Looking back on her journey, Anita is proud of the work she has put in and the part she has played in helping the company grow and develop.

No Two Days Are the Same

Ask Anita what a typical working day looks like, and one thing becomes clear: there is plenty of variety.

Alongside supporting the Directors with tasks and projects, she helps manage the day-to-day running of the office. She also looks after her own customers and accounts, answers phone calls and assists with enquiries.

Her work extends to IT and social media, as well as helping colleagues with whatever needs attention. One moment might involve supporting a Director, while the next brings a customer enquiry or an IT issue to resolve.

Being able to adapt is an important part of the role. Priorities can change quickly, and Anita enjoys being involved in so many different aspects of the business.

Building Relationships with Customers

For Anita, one of the most rewarding parts of her job is knowing that customers feel listened to and are happy with the service they receive.

Taking the time to understand what someone needs helps build the trust that encourages them to return to GB. She also enjoys getting to know her customers, sharing a joke and making those conversations feel personal.

That approach reflects the care behind her work. Helping customers feel comfortable, understood and looked after is a part of the job she finds especially satisfying.

A Supportive, Family-Run Team

When asked what she enjoys most about working at GB, Anita points to the atmosphere of a family-run business.

Colleagues look out for one another and are willing to lend a hand, whether that means helping with a task, supporting a customer or dealing with something unexpected during the day.

For Anita, that friendly environment makes everyone feel part of one team. Asked to describe GB in three words, her answer was: “Family. Positive. Supportive.”
